  1. Generally receive less care and discipline from the remaining parent.
  2. Are less adept at play with school mates.
  3. Suffer from worse health.
  4. Have a greater tendency to exhitbit emotional and social problems as well as antisocial behavior.
  5. Have a more negative outlook on the world.
  6. Lack identification with role models.
  7. Likely to be chronically unhappy.
  8. Likely to feel a deep sense of loneliness.
  9. Likely crave structure in their lives.
